How’s it hanging, Butcher Crew? It is I, The Saw, stopping in to check on you; as you hang from a thread! I just wanted to make sure you knew that Behemoth has released their third single from their upcoming new album, Opvs Contra Natvram. “The Deathless Sun” is a haymaker! And the video, as usual, is startling and VERY awesome! In the pleasure of pain, Behemoth never disappoints!
Ya girl has Single Reviews out for the first two singles, “Ov My Herculean Exile” and “Off to War!”, and they have done wonders for our pain tolerance. “The Deathless Sun” is a beating in and of itself. It begins with the chorus right from the start:
I am nothing without him. Nothing is. I am no one. It is he, Sol Invictvs; The Deathless Son.
The chorus is a bop. It has a dark bounce; a slow, eerie tempo. Everything else about the song screams Black Metal (or Blackened Death Metal, if you’d prefer). Blast-beats, double-bass; huge guitar solos; big riffs, and atmospheric picks. And, in the video, Behemoth reminds me of Ghost; except, if it were possible, darker and even more wicked. I love it!
I can’t wait until September 16, 2022, when Nuclear Blast releases this album through the gates of Hell!
Stay Metal,
THE SAW
