Scrawl from The Saw’s Butcher Shop: The Torture Rack (HEAVY BREAKDOWN)

Welcome to The Saw’s Butcher Shop! It’s Ya Girl, The Saw! And I have three words for you: Turn the Crank!! I am your tour guide to terror, once again, as we continue our examination of all the wonderful devises of torment found in my Butcher Shop. The Torture Rack is your introduction to pain in The House of Horrors, every Sunday night starting at 6:00pm Eastern, only on Overkill Radio.

Within The Saw’s Butcher Shop – where you’ll find THE HEAVIEST METAL ON THE PLANET – the slaughter plays out in specific segments, categories featuring the pleasure of pain, executed in such a way that the beatings grow in intensity throughout the two-hour radio show until, finally, you’re hanging from a meat hook begging to be six feet deep! But you can never get away! Isn’t that great?

Speaking of hooks, the first segment each week, in The House of Horrors, is The Torture Rack. Some are ready for the severe beatings that Ya Girl has in store. These folks enjoy a musical ass-whoopin’, and find themselves deep within the chasms of The Butcher Shop, in the most severe segments of sadism. But many people have to be coaxed, dragged in kicking and screaming; conditioned and tenderized as a part of the horrid process. This is the purpose of The Torture Rack.

TURN THE CRANK! The Torture Rack is a wonderful device where I lay you out horizontally, restrained by your wrists and ankles in a figure-X position. Then I TURN THE CRANK, and you are stretched for maximum brutality! The initial pain is exquisite! The point of the operation is to make you more malleable, more able to withstand the beatings that will come later as the horror continues in other segments of the Show. The Torture Rack really is an excellent ice breaker (and bone breaker), the best way to be drawn and quartered, and ready for the slaughter.

The Torture Rack is an intersection, really; a place in the world of Heavy Metal where many roads meet. Many fans of Heavy Metal come down the road of Radio Rock, your more “mainstream” brand of the genre. Another road is “The Big Named Bands” road. The bands that, even if you are not a Metalhead, you’ve at least heard the name of the band (and, probably, a song or two). Other roads come from a few select bands, these are the only bands that some fans will listen to; they are Metal to them. A famous road is the Classic Road. Those traveling this road grew up in the Classic Rock/Thrash community, and have never ventured out into the rest of the world of Metal. There are many more roads that meet at the intersection – The Torture Rack – and this is the music featured in this segment.

Ya Girl is a fan of ALL Metal, and The Saw’s Butcher Shop aims to feature all forms and fashions of the genre. The vision, however, is to lead you on a long and painful ride to the black heart of Heavy Metal, the extremes of the dark art; to THE HEAVIEST METAL ON THE PLANET. The Torture Rack is the hook, your introduction to the most severe beatings of your life (and death)! The segment is the meat tenderizer that stretches you in preparation for Death Row Cell Block, Diamond Cuts (your Master Butcher’s favorite bone cutting tool), The Chopping Block, The Place of Mourning, Choice Cuts (grade-A meat), Bone Cruncher, The Meat Grinder, The Catacombs, Slot Drain (use your imagination!), and The Meat Locker (where you end your journey, though the pain never ends).

Welcome to The Saw’s Butcher Shop! I am your host, Your Master Butcher! Your restraints are tightened, now fall back into madness, as I take you on a long and painful ride – from your more “mainstream” Metal, through old school Thrash; to Metalcore, old school and new school Death Metal, Black Metal, Deathcore, and SLAM. You have my word – I will never be gentle. This will hurt. Isn’t that wonderful?!
