Scrawl from The Saw’s Butcher Shop: Dimmu Burger — Inspiratio Perfanus (2023) ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome to The Saw’s Butcher Shop! You know what, Butcher Crew? Sometimes, the only thing that will satisfy is some good-old Symphonic Black Metal. As you already know, one of my favorites is Dimmu Borgir. With all their re-mastered material, you can listen to any era of the band and hear quality production and brilliant musicianship. Now, Dimmu Borgir are releasing a collection of many of the covers they have performed for years, just in time for Christmas! How ironic!

Inspiratio Perfanus is due to drop on December 8, 2023 via Nuclear Blast. The collection of “profane inspirations” is a taste of the bands that have influenced Dimmu Borgir, and some of the songs that they like to cover and play live. The first single from the new record has been released, a cover of Venom’s groundbreaking song, “Black Metal.” It stays true to the original, but with that dark Dimmu Borgir touch.

Inspiratio Perfanus contains eight tracks:

  1. Black Metal – Venom
  2. Satan My Master – Bathory
  3. Dead Men Don’t Rape – GGFH
  4. Nocturnal Fear – Celtic Frost
  5. Burn In Hell – Twisted Sister
  6. Perfect Strangers – Deep Purple
  7. Metal Heart – Accept
  8. Nocturnal Fear (Celtically Processed) – Celtic Frost

Sometimes you just need some Symphonic Black Metal to set it off right! And whether its original material, or a beautiful vicious cover, you can’t go wrong with Dimmu Borgir.

Stay Metal,

THE SAW
