Welcome to The Saw’s Butcher Shop! It’s your Master Butcher, The Saw. And Megadeth have released a third single from their upcoming, brand-new album, The Sick… The Dying… And The Dead. The new album is the 13^th for Megadeth, and I’m excited for it’s release on September 2, 2022.

We’ve heard the speedy, “We’ll Be Back,” and the 190 BPM, “Night Stalkers [featuring Ice T]” already. “Soldier On!” is a bit of a change-up; a mid-tempo bruiser, with one main riff, and features a more conservative song structure. The track has a real dramatic feel to it as Dave (vocals, guitar) tells the story of pressing onward in life, no matter how painful it is at times.

Where the first two singles remind me of older era Megadeth song writing, this newest single reminds me of more recent eras of the band’s historiography. The content, though, is a common theme that can be found throughout the 40-year career of Dave and the band. This is a great song! Very catchy; it gets stuck in your head! You’ll have the chorus echoing between your ears!
